Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualification for Research Assistant: Postgraduate in Social Sciences Discipline with a minimum 55% marks with NET/M.Phil./PhD
- Essential Qualification for Field Investigators: Postgraduate in Social Sciences Discipline with a minimum 55% marks
- Desirable Qualification: Proficient in Odia, Hindi, and English
- Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of MS Office, SPSS, STATA, NVivo/MAXQDA is desirable
- Prior Field/Research/Ethnographic study experience with the tribal community/research/related area will be given preference
Salary/ Stipend
- Research Assistant: Rs. 37,000/- per month
- Field Investigator: Rs. 20,000/- per month

Selection Process
- The interview will be conducted in online mode via Google Meet.
- The interview schedule will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates via email.
- The list of the candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the posts of Research Assistant and Field Investigator, and are shortlisted after scrutiny, will be displayed on the Institute’s Website.
General Information / Instructions
- Interested and eligible candidates must email the duly filled prescribed application form (Annexure 1) along with self-attested photocopies of all degrees, certificates, and mark sheets related to their educational qualifications.
- The selection of the candidate will be purely provisional. Candidates are required to bring all original certificates and documents for verification at the time of joining; failing to do so, the appointment will be cancelled.
- Only those candidates whose applications are received within the specified deadline and in the prescribed format will be considered for scrutiny.
- Applicants must ensure their eligibility, as prescribed in the advertisement before submitting the application form.
- The appointment is purely temporary. Selected candidates will have no claim for temporary or regular appointments at the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (H.P.) at any stage.
- No TA/DA will be provided at the time of joining.
- The Research Assistant is expected to visit the proposed field site for planning, monitoring, and execution of the study.
- The two field investigators are expected to visit the NIT Hamirpur, HP Campus once every two months to submit the progress report of their fieldwork.
- The selected Research Assistant/Field Investigators must join within one week of receiving the appointment letter; failing to do so, the appointment will be cancelled automatically and, the opportunity will be provided to the waitlisted candidate.
- Accommodation Not Applicable
- One Research Assistant will be stationed at the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (H.P.) for one year (12 months). The RA will be expected to visit the field site in Odisha as and when required.
- Two Field Investigators will be stationed at Maa Manikeshwari University, Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi District, Odisha, for six (6) months, given the study site in Kalahandi, Odisha.
- The two Field Investigators are expected to visit the NIT Hamirpur campus once every two months to submit the report of their fieldwork.
